Christmas elf goodbye / last day poems

Free to use goodbye / last day poems for your Christmas elf.

I wish you a merry Christmas
And a mischievous new year
Iíve had a brilliant December
Iíve loved being here

So as Christmas gets nearer
And Santaís loading his sleigh
Iíve told him about you
And your wishes for Christmas day.

So hereís hoping you get
Whatís top on your list
Youíve been a wonderful friend
And will be sorely missed.

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
on Santaís magic sleigh!

He picked me up last evening
and took me for a ride
I told him all about you,
youíve nothing left to hide.

Santaís very pleased with you
youíre on his special list,
So have a lovely Christmas,
I hope you get everything you wish x

The month of December
has really flown
And my friendship for you
has grown and grown.

But I must go home
Santa needs me now,
For it takes lots of us Elves
to show him how

To pack his sleigh
and pile it high
And sprinkle magic dust
So that his reindeer fly.

So when you see the presents
That Santa brings you
Think of me,
I'l think of you too.

The last day of your Christmas elf could be seen as a sad one as your children will obviously miss their cheeky friend! A good idea therefore might be to distract them with a parting gift - something simple like a photo of the Elf or a small Christmas cuddly to keep them company till the Elf returns next year might be nice. Or some magic reindeer food to sprinkle outside so Santa can find them easily (widely available in shops but can be easily made with some oats and glitter!) Some families have their elf leave a Christmas Eve box / hamper as a farewell gift. Obviously the idea that their elf has returned to Santa to help him get ready to deliver the presents the next day is a positive thought when saying goodbye! Some families have the elf stay to avoid having to say goodbye and then get a new one each year, it just depends on what works for your family.
